The fish, coral and other marine life in this portion of the reef are really fantastic. The beach is lovely and because of it's distance from town is very private.

Tranquility Bay Resort is located inside the world's second largest reef, and is part of the Bacalar Chico Marine Reserve, making it home to some of the most unbelievable diving in the entire world.

Whether you're an experienced diver, or trying it for the first time, you're in for the dive of a lifetime. We are a PADI certified international dive resort with our own dive masters on site. We have all the equipment necessary for our local dives right off the hotel. Outside the reef there is spectacular diving with colorful underwater canyons, giant sponges, sea turtles and ocean fish. Dolphins and manatees have also been known to frequent the waters around the resort. Open water certification and Discover Scuba courses are available. Our Dive Center is well stocked with buoyancy compensators, regulators, masks fins and snorkels.
